Kawasaki Launches the K3VLS Series Swash plate Axial Piston Pump for Load Sensing

Tokyo, September 15, 2015 — Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced today that the energy-efficient K3VLS series swash plate axial piston pump for load sensing will go on sale from October 1, 2015.
The K3VLS series features a pressure specification of 28 MPa, which is typical in the sector of construction, agricultural, and other industrial vehicles.
This series offers excellent pump efficiency even in the low and intermediate pressure ranges, along with superior control properties in a compact envelope. Kawasaki achieved this by adopting pistons, cylinders, and other rotary components newly developed using fluid analysis technologies the company has fostered through the development of aircraft and rolling stock. It also drew on its high-precision measurement technologies established through the development of hydraulic equipment based on its wealth of experience in the construction machinery and other industrial vehicle sectors.
The K3VLS85, which has a displacement volume of 85 cm3, realizes the light weight and compact installation required in industrial vehicles, and greatly contributes to easy installation and fuel efficiency improvements through a reduction in pump weight of approximately 15% and an increase in output density ratio of approximately 8% compared to the existing comparable model, the K3VL80.
With load sensing control and constant pressure control equipped as standard, the series can also respond to a wide range of requirements with electrical flow and horse-power controls available as options. The series also comes with a pump mounting compliant with the SAE standard widely adopted in the sector of industrial vehicles, and a through drive by which optional pumps can be installed.
The K3VLS series launches with the 65 cm3, 85 cm3 and 105 cm3 displacement volume models on October 1, 2015, followed by the 50 cm3, 125 cm3, and 150 cm3 models in 2016.
