Kawasaki Ships Two Gas Compressors for Use in a Malaysian Booster Compressor Facility

November 27, 2023 — Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced today its shipment of two gas compressors from Kobe Works to Malaysia’s Dialog E & C Sdn. Bhd.

The gas compressors were ordered by Dialog E & C, an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the Southern Transmission Improvement & Readiness Project^*1 carried out by PETRONAS Gas Bhd,^*2 and will be used for pressurizing gases in a new booster compressor facility which to be constructed in the Malaysian State of Johor’s Kluang District. Following commencement of operations, the new booster compressor facility is expected to play a vital role as an infrastructure for supplying low-carbon gases to customers within the Peninsular Malaysia.

Kawasaki has extensive experience going back more than half a century in the delivery of compressors to customers, and realizing stable and reliable equipment operations, in Malaysia as well as India and various parts of Southeast Asia and the Middle East. This latest order from Dialog E & C is a reflection of the high trust Kawasaki has earned for its products through outstanding technological capabilities and conformance with rigorous environmental requirements.

Building on a rich array of past successes with high-efficiency gas compressors, the company will continue working to earn additional orders for projects in Malaysia and other countries while developing and providing new technologies that enable environmentally friendly energy usage.

*1 A project intended to strengthen the transport capacity of gas pipelines in Peninsular Malaysia, where gas demand is growing.

*2 A wholly owned subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (more commonly known as PETRONAS), which is a major state-owned oil and gas company in Malaysia. PETRONAS Gas Bhd is involved in gas processing and transport operations.
