Are there any restrictions for setting up a margin lending account?
The following restrictions exist when applying for a Margin Lending account:
- Must be a permanant Australian resident
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Cannot be opened for a Self Managed Super Fund (SMSF)
- Must pass CommSec’s standard credit assessment criteria.
Account types which can be set up under a Margin Loan include:
- Individual account
- Trust account with Individual or Joint Trustee(s)
- Company account
- Trust where the Trustee is a Company.
